The Residency

I recently have started a residency at Kensington Community Church. We are going to be launching our new church, "Horizons" from KCC in September 2009. The process is detailed and informative. I personally have been allowing God to download His program to me. It is like restarting or rebooting your computer after a new program is downloaded. It just takes time! That is very difficult for some. But when we launch, we will immediately house 500 or more people. My wife and I are actually believing for 1000+ people at launch.

We are not going the traditional way of church planting. Meaning, we are going to take some time to build and recruit people. Church planting takes great faith, but God is able. With the help of Kensington, they are giving us the tools and resources to plant a great church from the beginning. 80% of church plants fail within the first year. We will not fall into that category. God has positioned us for greatness, and not failure. We are running with the vision, and with patience, we will wait for it. And it will surely come! We still have the responsibility of fundraising for salary and resources. But God has been very faithful to us, along with our partners too. We have raised our salary for 2008 and are now fundraising for equipment costs such as sound, lights, children's ministry, etc. That cost is over $80,000. That is the next phase of fundraising as we look to raise that this year. Check out sites like Portable Church, or newchurches.com.

If you are part of the team, I will see you Thursday night at 8pm.
God Bless.
